With a Practical Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum
As part of Cairo University’s Center for Foreign Languages and Specialized Translation efforts to promote awareness of Egyptian identity and to spread linguistic and cultural knowledge among youth,
the Center is pleased to announce a new course entitled:
“Voices from History: An Introduction to the Ancient Egyptian Language.”
The course aims to introduce participants to the basics of the Ancient Egyptian language (hieroglyphic writing), as well as how to read inscriptions and expressions used in ancient Egyptian civilization.

• Introduction to the development of the Ancient Egyptian language and its writing systems
• Learning basic hieroglyphic symbols, pronunciation, and writing techniques
• Vocabulary of daily life in Ancient Egyptian texts
• Practical application during the museum visit to read original inscriptions on artifacts
