President of Cairo University and Vice Presidents Visit the Language Center Pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair

As part of Cairo University’s support for the participation of its specialized centers in major cultural events,
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, visited the pavilion of the Cairo University Center for Foreign Languages and Specialized Translation—part of the Cairo University stand—during the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair.

The Center’s pavilion was also visited by:
• Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs
• Prof. Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development
• Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Saeed, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research

During the visit, they reviewed the Center’s scientific publications and peer-reviewed academic journals, as well as its training programs and services in the fields of languages, translation, and specialized training, in addition to its role in community service and the dissemination of linguistic culture.

The President of the University praised the scientific and cultural role played by the Center, emphasizing the importance of the active presence of the University’s sectors in cultural and knowledge forums in a manner that reflects the University’s leadership and academic standing.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, who visited the University’s stand accompanied by a number of students, was keen to guide them to explore the Center’s services and specialized programs and to encourage them to benefit from opportunities for language learning and linguistic training.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Refaat also expressed his appreciation for the Center’s role in offering high-quality programs that serve the community and promote the dissemination of linguistic and specialized culture.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Saeed congratulated the Center’s administration on the journals Hermes and Logos receiving a ranking of (7) in the classification of scientific journals, commending the Center’s efforts in supporting specialized academic publishing.

In turn, Prof. Dr. Manar Abdel-Moaz, Director of the Center, expressed her pride in this visit, affirming that the Center’s participation in the Book Fair comes within the framework of its mission to disseminate knowledge, support the translation movement, and enhance cultural and scientific communication.

The participation also comes as part of the Center’s plan to introduce readers to its translated book publications in various fields of the humanities, in addition to presenting its services and diverse programs to the public and learners.

The accompanying delegation to the University President included:
Prof. Dr. Khaled Abu El-Leil, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Organization,
and Prof. Dr. Ragaa Ahmed Ali, Professor of Philosophy and former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Supervisor of the Cairo University pavilion.
